Many of us like layering perfumes to create new and unique scents, but sometimes, it can be tricky to get it right.
So, we're here to help you figure out how to get compliments instead of complaints.
To get you started, it’s important to understand fragrance families. Fragrances fall into four categories: Woody, Floral, Amber, and Fresh. One way to layer fragrances is to stick to scents within the same family to achieve a well-balanced blend. To start layering, pick a base scent that you really like and apply it to your chest so you can enjoy it more. Then, use a complementary scent to a different area away from your nose.
For something more complex, try mixing fragrances from opposite families. For example, you can pair a woody base with floral notes for a rich, intriguing aroma.
Here’s a pro tip: perfume oils with rose notes work great as both a top and a base layer since they complement almost every other type of scent.
Just a quick heads-up: don’t roll perfume oils on top of each other while they’re still wet. This can completely change the scents, which is not what we want.
That’s all for now! Experimenting with different scents can be tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you'll create a signature fragrance that no one else has. People will definitely want to know what you’re wearing!
